Helen Myra Trytsman, born and bred in Pretoria, obtained her LLB (cum laude) in 2003 and her LLM (cum laude) in 2005 specialising in the law of contract.
She completed her articles in 2005 at Savage Jooste & Adams Inc and qualified as an attorney, conveyancer and notary in 2006. She was subsequently appointed at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs as associate in the Commercial Property Department and remained in this position until she relocated to London with her husband for a period of two years, where she worked as legal assistant at Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer. Back in South Africa, Helen started a family, as well as her own law firm, Trytsman Attorneys. Since then, she has also been involved in lecturing at the University of Pretoria, University of South Africa, and the Law Society’s Legal Education and Development. She completed the FAMSA mediation course in 2013, enabling her to act as mediator in family law and divorce matters. With a keen interest in psychology, she obtained her Honours in Psychology at the University of South Africa in 2012. This qualification is exceptionally valuable, especially in the mediation environment. She has recently completed an advanced diploma in Trusts and Estate Administration at the University of the Free State, enabling her to register as a Fiduciary Practitioner in South Africa. Helen enjoys travelling, loves a good book and takes great pleasure in gardening. She also enjoys hiking, tennis and spending time with her husband and three boys.
